Chapter 1

Childhood at the farm

Eighty-four years ago Ann was born in "Clean Waters", her father´s farm. When Ann was two years old, her sister Alice was born. Both Alice and Ann grew up among trees birds and coffee planted lands. At this time there was a man called Mr. Smith living in one of the neighbouring farms. He had an only child. Her name was Ruth. Ruth became Ann´s closest friend. They met each other every day after school.

They liked to walk by the river D´Antas that crossed their farms. They talked about their dreams while throwing little rocks in the water of the river. Faquently, Ruth, Ann and Alice made picnics under a large mango tree next to Ann´s house. That was so nice!

Ann´s childhood was really calm. She felt each moment of her life deeply. She became a nice and interesting girl. When she was twenty, she moved to her grandmother's house in "Beautiful Land", a small town near the farm. She studied in a pubic school there. Durind her holidays she used to go back to the farm. She loved travelling on the boat that took her to and from the farm.

Chapter 2

Maturity

Ann had a dream when she was at school which was to organize a school for the children of the farm and the neighbouring farms. When she graduated and went back home, she decided to build a school with the help of her father's workers.

Every day she would wake up early with the workers and they went to work happily. After a long day they would celebrate the conclusion of the new stage. She discovered how much she loved working and she was very happy.

The chairs and desks were made of wood which came from the farm. Everything they made, thy made it there.

They had a big party to celebrate the inauguration of the school and they called it "Happy Dream". Ann´s dream had finally come true.

She started to teach children. The children's mothers made the uniforms used by the children. The children learned quickly because Ann loved teaching. She did everything with love. She created a teaching method in which she used everything around her and anything that was part of the children´s environment. She taught many things about agriculture because most of the children helped their parents in the farm.

Ann loved parties and would celebrate every important date with a party in the school, calling everybody that lived near her farm. During these parties, the student´s parents brought food which was cooked by them with products taken from their own farms.

One day Ann had the great idea of transforming these parties into an annual competition to estimulate production. Those parties became a tradition. People from all over came to watch, eat good food or participate. Production developed a great deal in that area.

So, Ann´s parents bought other lands and increased their production of coffee always with Ann´s help. She did not only dedicate herself to her school. She worked in the school a well as in the farm.

Everybody who hew Ann loved her. On her birthday her parents made a party and she received many presents. Everyone wanted to please her because she was very kind and did everything to help people.

Every yet that passed Ann became more beautiful and men were attracted to her. In one of the exibitions Ann met Robert. He was handsome and very nice with people. His father was called James Watchson.

Mr. Watchson was a clever man who had a large farm near Ann's. He was a friend of Ann´s father. He had three sons, Paul Robert and George. All three sons worked in their father's farm. But Robert wanted to be a doctor. When he finished high school his father send him to medical school. During his vacation Robert visited his family and wet to the exibition, of course.

Robert had always admired Ann but did not have the courage to get close to her. One day, his father talked to Ann´s father about it and they introduced the couple. They started talking and got to know each other better. They became good friends. He wrote to Ann from school and she wrote to him too. They started to go steady.

Robert graduated as a doctor and he proposed to Arm. He had to live in the city because of his work at the hospital. After thinking a lot about moving, Ann decided the loved Robert and married him. They moved to Wicker. Ann asked Ruth if she could take her place at the school, since she was also a good teacher and liked to work with children. She gladly accepted.

There was a big party in Clean Waters to celebrate their wedding. It was beautiful! Many people came. They went to Europe on their honeymoon.

They bought a beautiful house in Wicker and Ann dedicated herself to working at home. Whenever Robert could, they visited their parents. Robert was a good man and an excellent doctor. During his vacation at the farm, he worked. He was always called for medical visits.
